Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have emerged as a cornerstone in modern food biotechnology, offering promising solutions to global challenges related to food security and environmental sustainability. GMOs are engineered to enhance crop yield, improve nutritional content, and increase resistance to pests and environmental stressors. However, concerns over ecological impacts, human health risks, and socio-economic implications persist. This paper explores the role of GMOs in improving food security and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The paper reviews existing literature, evaluates the benefits and risks associated with GMO use, and presents data-driven insights into the future of food biotechnology. Findings indicate that while GMOs contribute to increased agricultural efficiency and reduced environmental impact, regulatory frameworks and public acceptance remain critical factors for their widespread adoption.
