Author Guidelines
ICMERD-International Journal of Dental Science (ICMERD-IJDS) welcomes submissions of original research, reviews, case reports, clinical studies, and short communications in the field of dental sciences. Authors must follow the submission guidelines outlined below to ensure a smooth peer-review and publication process.
1. Manuscript Preparation
Authors must prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following guidelines to ensure a smooth review and publication process:
1.1 General Format
- Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- Use Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Margins should be set to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Include page numbers in the bottom-right corner.
1.2 Structure of Manuscript
Manuscripts should follow the following structure:

Title Page | Include the manuscript title, full names of all authors, affiliations, and corresponding author details (email, phone). |
Abstract | A structured abstract (250–300 words) including background, methods, results, and conclusion. |
Keywords | 4–6 relevant keywords separated by commas. |
Introduction | Provide background information, the rationale for the study, and research objectives. |
Materials and Methods | Detailed methodology, including ethical approval details if applicable. |
Results | Clear presentation of data with tables and figures where applicable. |
Discussion | Interpret findings, compare with existing literature, and address study limitations. |
Conclusion | Summarize the main findings and their implications. |
Acknowledgments | Optional; recognize contributions that do not meet authorship criteria. |
References | Use Vancouver citation style. |
1.3 Figures and Tables
- Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
- Provide descriptive captions for all figures and tables.
- Figures must be submitted in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
- Tables should be editable (not pasted as images).
1.4 Ethical Considerations
- Research involving human subjects must follow the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki and obtain ethical approval from an accredited institutional review board (IRB).
- Studies involving animals must comply with institutional and national guidelines.
- Authors must obtain written informed consent from participants where applicable.
- All potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed.
2. Citation and Referencing Style
- Use the Vancouver style for citations and references.
- In-text citations should be numbered in brackets (e.g., [1]).

3. Submission Process
- Manuscripts must be submitted online via the ICMERD-IJDS Submission Portal.
- Authors should ensure compliance with the author guidelines before submission.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon successful submission.
4. Peer Review Process
- All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.
- Authors can expect initial feedback within 3–4 weeks of submission.
- Accepted papers will be processed for publication within 4–6 weeks after acceptance.
5. Copyright and Open Access
- All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).
- Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the work.
6. Conflict of Interest
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or interpretation of results.
